(as life whizzes by being fun but not very profitable)Right I have to go way back when to start this journal because Ive been too busy to do much on DA apart from check messages for a long time.
First of all, I won the

Nature contest in August.
Thanks to everyone that voted for me.
One of the prizes was a subscription from

so to thank her Id like to feature some of her work.
My other prize was a tutorial from

for either:
a dragon

or a filagree egg

Theyre both really nice and I like her sculptures.
Given the nature of my work I dont really need it so Glori and I agreed that the best thing to do is for me to
give it to one of my watchers.Any suggestions? I thought about running a simple contest for it but I dont think I have the time right now so I need a simpler way of awarding it. Maybe I should just put the names of anyone that would like it in a hat and draw one out? Please help me with suggestions and Ill decide how to do it by the time I next update my journal.
The contest winners were:
First

Second

Third

The other two winning pieces are beautifully done and I like them both. Well done you two

So whats been keeping me busy?Part of it is the lousy economy which forces me to do more fairs and markets in order to earn less money. Boy have I done some bad ones this year

Fortunately they werent all bad

and Ive still got three more before the end of the year.
Part of it is that life has picked up a lot after the death of my mum at the end of last year. I have a new relationship which is making me happier than I have been for a long time

Its helping me to slowly climb up the slope anyway and helping me to sort out some long-standing hang-ups and blockages in my head. Maybe Ill catch up properly on life soon

Then after the summer potters fair season I went off to the USA again, to attend the 10th annual Hippolotofus reunion in Kansas City. More about my trip in my next journal.

came to visit from England when I got home, bringing my gorgeous small grandson Kyte with them. I hadnt seen them for a long time (too long) so it was good fun. She has been making some beautiful faery clothes and is enjoying being creative again. Most of her creations are on her myspace and facebook pages rather than here on DA.
Ive also been clearing out the lean-to on the end of my house because Im converting it to a sun room. Its all cleared now and tomorrow morning Im expecting a delivery of a load of gravel, sand, cement, and reinforcing grill for the new concrete floor. Being builders labourer will keep me even busier but it will be worth it when its done.
On my last day in Kansas City I was given another DD for my lizard pot. I havent had time to catch up on comments yet. I owe so many people thanks and replies Ill get round to it bit by bit. A big thank you here to all the people who liked it and all those who put me on their watch list. I have a queue of new things to upload when I have time. I hope you all like them too. I think I'll add a couple tonight

I don't often have the time to reply to everyone who has added my work to their favourites without leaving a comment. I prefer to spend my available time looking at all your wonderful galleries and adding things of yours that I like to my favourites. I do try to visit the people who added my work to their favourites but I apologise if I didn't have time to visit you this time round.
Please accept my thanks here
